Have you developed the most innovative way to make money in this economy?
Could your work inspire others?
Would you like the world to know what you have done?
Maybe this describes someone you know and they deserve proper recognition
I am pleased to announce the first annual InnovativeEconomy.com Innovative Business Contest.
The contest begins at 12:00 a.m. CDT October 10, 2008 and ends 11:59 p.m. CST December 15, 2008. Entrants will be judged by the authors of InnovativeEconomy.com and other judges selected by the authors for their expertise in entrepreneurship, innovation and/or creative business marketing.
The winning entry or entries will be judged according to creativity in generating a sustainable business approach that overcomes or succeeds in spite of the harsh economic climate in which we find ourselves today - the meltdown, as it were. It can be a one person enterprise or a large established company. The point is to recognize the ingenuity and imaginative qualities that can inspire others, perhaps even help others find their own solution to growing a business in this economy.
We may decide to allow for more than one winner to allow for different classifications of success, such as small business vs. larger business, or perhaps first, second or third prize. The decisions will be announced on the blog as they are made.
The potential prize bucket may grow over the course of the contest. We are already in discussions with some interesting companies about prize contributions. It is premature to announce their prize contributions, but you will want to watch for announcements forthcoming very soon. We do know the prize bucket will include the book, “How To Be A Creative Genius In Five Minutes Or Less” by Gary Unger and an “I’m A Creative Genius” tee shirt. To learn more about Gary and his book, see my blog post on Gary Unger.
We are committed to making this worth your time, and to prepare for what that means we had to create some rules. For a complete list of contest rules, please go to the Official Contest Rules.
To submit your business as official entry, all you have to do is:
(1) Read the contest rules via the link provided; and
(2) Post your submission in the comments section of this particular post. Entries will be judged on effective communication, so don’t drone on - make it fun and interesting for us to hear your story!
If you have a Viddler account you can also post a video (Viddler accounts are free). Go ahead, we’d love to see it. The final winners will be selected by InnovativeEconomy.com judges, so let’s see if the judges agree with you. You can vote on your own entry and get your friends to vote too.
Tell us your story. Inspire the world. Get lots of attention that is free to you. Win.
See you in the contest!

Project description:
The Ingenesist Project is an open sourced economic development project that has specified 3 web applications which, if developed and applied to social networks, would allow social, creative, and intellectual capital to become tangible outside the construct of Wall Street and traditional corporate entity.
* The Knowledge Inventory
* The Percentile Search Engine
* The Innovation Bank
The objective is to start a national conversation about the innovation economy sourced through social networks and to refine and open source the development of the three web applications.
Q. What is the social need or challenge does The Ingenesist Project address?
A. Technological change must always precede economic growth. We are going about the process of globalization as if economic growth can precede technological change (debt economics). Everything that we see as unsustainable in the economy, environment, or social welfare across the globe is due to this tiny anomaly. The Ingenesist Project will correct the anomaly so that a mirror economy can develop where money represents human productivity not debt.
Q. What’s really new about this idea?
A. The Tangibility of knowledge is the holy grail of business finance. Until the Era of Social Networks, this was considered impossible. The Ingenesist Project claims to have solved the puzzle using existing social networks to format and integrate knowledge assets such that they emulate a financial instrument. As such, society can use the same calculus, methods, and business plans as Wall Street to challenge the allocation of knowledge assets in a fair market toward a Pareto efficient outcome.
The Ingenesist Project is so unique, so radical, and will certainly be very controversial- yet it is such a relatively easy approach to wiping out so many social problems. People will be skeptical, but the calculus holds. The work is covered by USPTO Patent Pending: Innovation Bank; a Novel Method of Business Related to the Integration and Capitalization of Knowledge Assets USPTO; 20070226163 will be committed to the public domain so that no single entity can own it.
Q. What inspired you to come up with your idea in the first place?
A. I worked on the implementation of the NAFTA Mutual Recognition Document for Engineering Professionals from 1993-1997. I tested 250 Mexican engineers using the US Engineering Board exams and observed an astonishingly successful pass ratio. This led me to suspect that it was not the people that are poor; rather, it was the system that is poor – knowledge is not intangible, it is simply invisible. Then NAFTA literally handed Mexico an opportunity to enter the knowledge economy if they accepted mutual recognition with US and Canada. Their government refused because they needed their engineers to work in the factories and did not want to give them “wings”. I warned them that some day they would compete with China – they could not imagine such a thing. One warm evening, alone in the desert, I had an epiphany – technological change must always precede economic growth. We were going about the process of globalization backwards.
For the last 15 years, I have dedicated my intellectual journey in life to correcting this tiny and barely noticeable flaw in market economics. The technology that was missing back then has finally arrived. I believe that I am close to solving this puzzle and I need your help.
Q. From 1-5, what stage of development is the Ingenesist project in?
A. 4.
There are two objectives:
- Start a national conversation about knowledge tangibility
- Predevelopment and open sourcing of 3 new web applications for social networks.
Entrepreneurs will do the rest because a great deal of wealth can be generated.
The concept has been vetted and survived peer review by very smart people; Boeing Technical Fellowship, Seattle University Graduate Business School, and several University level academic conference publications including UW, USC. .
USPTO Patent Application filed and Published (#20070226163).
Complete specification of objectives and components.

Q. If this contest is able to help push your idea forward, do you have the time or desire to take ownership of it?
A. Yes, I have been for years and I will never stop.
Q. Would you be happy for someone else to take your idea forward?
A. As an open source project, the objective is that many people take the idea forward.
Q. Tell us a bit about yourself
A. Licensed Professional Engineer/MBA with a very diverse background:
Thought-leader in the area of Innovation Economics. Professional Practice in, building envelope engineering (construction) and reserve studies (capital asset management). Adjunct Professor at City University (school of management), ex-aerospace engineer and airline representative for aircraft acquisition, musician (Hollywood rock drummer), mechanical special effects for movies and theme parks, educator, international policy, test engineer, design engineer, etc. See linkedin profile or email for resume
A. Q. What do you do for fun?
I play with my son, publish a blog, and go to the family cabin in the Olympics for relaxation, hiking, kayaking, fishing, and just being a dad, husband and overall happy camper.
Q. What do you think the best application on the web is?
A. Social Media, when converged, will knock everyone’s socks off.
Q. Tell us anything else you think we should know.
A. Please review http://ingenesist.com. Read the introduction and the tab labeled IEc.101. These 18 short articles spell out exactly how to induce an innovation economy in social networks. The articles total about 25 double spaced pages so please be patient. It’s a little tough to get your head around at first, but once you get it, you’ll have an AH HA moment and the “alternate universe” of innovation economics will appear to you. You’ll never be able to think about the old way again. Other posts specify how to monetize Social Networks, more coming too! THANKS!!!
Q. Privacy?
A. Completely and absolutely open in every regard and at every opportunity.
